Stroll along the quays at the end of the day to admire the boats and trawlers, and to watch the fishermen returning from their fishing trips. Before setting off again, the most courageous will climb the 120 steps of the Saint-Louis lighthouse, which offers a 360° view of the fishing port, marina and old town.

A little further along, the Lido promenade provides access to the 7 sandy beaches for which the town is famous. Mont Saint Clair offers a superb panorama of theThau archipelago, and can be reached by car or on foot, by climbing 175 meters to its summit.

At the foot of Mont Saint Clair, admire theEtang de Thau, the largest in Languedoc Roussillon, separated from the Mediterranean by a single fine sand barrier. This small inland sea is renowned for its rich flora and fauna. It borders several Mediterranean towns adjacent to Sète, including Frontignan, Balaruc and Bouzigues.

Sète is also known for its many museums and cultural venues. The Paul Valéry museum and the Georges Brassens memorial retrace the different stages in the lives of these famous men.
